Community Awareness Program Plan Template
v1.4
Purpose. The format for planning a community safety education or awareness program, from the risk it addresses and the audience through delivery, partners, resources and evaluation.
1.How to use this template
Complete the template for every education or awareness program before delivery and record it in the Inspections, Permits and Programs Register. The Manager Community Safety must approve the plan. After delivery, the evaluation section must be completed and the register updated with the reach and outcomes.
2.Risk and audience
State the risk the program addresses with reference to the regional emergency risk assessment or local incident data, and describe the audience: who they are, where they are, what they already know and do, and any language, disability or cultural considerations that shape the delivery.
3.Objectives and messages
State the behaviour or knowledge change the program aims for in measurable terms, and the key messages, drawn from the approved messaging library so that Guardian advice is consistent with state warnings and partner agencies.
4.Delivery and partners
Describe the activities, dates, locations, presenters, materials and partner agencies or community groups involved, and the resources and budget required. Identify any safety considerations for demonstrations or displays.
5.Evaluation
State how reach and outcomes will be measured, for example attendance, pre and post surveys, follow-up contacts or changes in incident data, and when the evaluation will be reported.
