Delivers storm and flood damage operations, rescue and search through fourteen volunteer units with a regional duty officer, coordinates unit readiness and requests for assistance, and supports flood and storm warnings with community information.

Who works here
Leanne Carrick
Leads the fourteen volunteer units and the duty officer roster, having joined as a volunteer rescue operator in 2008 and moved to career staff in 2016.
Tom Brennan
Volunteer controller of a 46 member unit, leads storm and flood operations and vertical rescue, and has been a member for eighteen years.
Where the work is recorded
Incident and Dispatch Log
The official record of every incident and request for assistance, with type, location, resources, incident level, control times, safety officer and debrief status.
Appliance and Equipment Register
Records every appliance, breathing apparatus set, rescue kit, ladder, chainsaw and detector with its checks, tests, services, defects and in service status.
Training and Competency Matrix
Records each member's operational competencies, currency and expiry dates, so that crews are formed and dispatched only from members recorded as competent.
